How much does it cost to resubmit a rejected LPA?
Last updated 22 August 2026
If you resubmit a rejected LPA within 3 months, you pay a reduced fee of £46. After that, or for older applications, you pay the full £92 again. The reduced fee is set out in SI 2007/2051 regulation 5(1A).
The £46 reduced fee
The reduced resubmission fee of £46 applies when you resubmit within 3 months of the invalid application being returned, and the earlier application was made on or after 1 October 2011. This is a statutory reduced fee, not a discretionary waiver.
Why some sites get this wrong
Several commercial sites state that there is no reduced fee for resubmissions and that you must pay £92 again. That is incorrect and contradicts SI 2007/2051 reg 5(1A). Always check GOV.UK for the current position.
If you have to re-execute the whole form
If the rejection is for something that requires re-execution (such as wrong signing order), you still resubmit the new form within 3 months to claim the reduced fee. The clock runs from when the invalid application was returned, not from when you re-execute.
Frequently asked questions
Is the reduced fee automatic?
You must claim it when you resubmit within the 3-month window. State on the application that you are resubmitting a rejected LPA.
What if more than 3 months have passed?
You pay the full £92 fee again.
